I agree with you wholeheartedly that Crowley in in the minority. I've never been banned so I question your use of "only" in this context.

"Only those who are banned and their apologists." Is that any better? I'm also very biased, ask some people I've banned.... but don't bother asking my friends I've banned.

Everything works on alerts. There was a time when I would ban users, erase posts, etc. Now I sit back and wait for alerts.

If you are not alerting posts, you can't complain some get through.

Also, when you are speeding down the road... do not tell the cop "Well, THAT guy was speeding, why did you pull ME over."

Mods can't catch everything, but when they catch something as offensive as what widget did, we will act.
