HELP! internet connection...

i am needing a fairly cheap internet connection that allows me to be on the internet while not clogging up the phone line at the same time. Does anyone have any suggestions or good ideas?

Well, inexpensive is the kicker.

Seems like you're sort of limited to the following :

1) Pay for an extra phone line.
2) Cable modem connection.
3) DSL connection.

The cheapest is just to get a second phone line.

You could also get ISDN, which is somewhat faster than an extra phoneline.

Thanx guys! but do u have any idea on how much these options will cost me?? (i am currently paying about $25/month) cuz i don't...but i've heard that a new phone line is not very cheap..although i have heard that DSL is about 5-10 dollars more...I have no idea about ISDN...or what it is...can u explain?

What it costs I cannot tell you, I live in Holland. You should check with your local phone company.

The advantage of ISDN is that you do not get another company, and you DO get extra phone lines, or fax if you prefer that.
Disadvantage is that it is not as fast as DSL or Cable, and you pay by the minute.

You should decide by looking at what you need. If it is just that the telephone is free while internetting, ISDN is a good solution. Do you seek fast internet, you should go with DSL.
