I think when a profile says" I dont use engines, and I think anyone who does should die" usally gets banned for engine use.

I suggest you ask a game moderator, but if a guy gets beaten by a 1300 player, then two weeks later is beating 2000 players up the yazoo....that might be a pointer.

edit. i think it has something to do with analysing the games for similarities to engine moves.

When you play chess using an engine your moves show up on the site as having been generated in under 2 seconds, whereas moves made by humans take 15 seconds to register.

Hope this answer was helpful.

You can't really tell from one game or a few good moves. People generally run the game through a chess engine or chess engines to see what percentage of the time the game move matches the computer's moves.

If it matches a certain percentage of the time you can tell it was a computer.

Also, there are types of moves that computers make that humans generally do not. This is mostly true in endgames, where computers play flawlessly.

Obviously, you can't run test the game until it is finished. If you find a strong match percentage post a feedback with your proof. Don't post it in the forum.

Another way to tell is if the person can't explain why he did a certain move. You wouldn't be able to quiz him unless he wanted to go over the game with you... and if he cheated... why would he?
