A world religion? The story that has been told by the Bible pertaining to the nature of God is so primitive that it's laughable. It's amazing to me that it has caught on as a legitimate religion. Some God sitting on his throne mad at Adam and Eve for not following orders, and then he condems all to spend eternity in Hell because of the first couples error sounds to me like some looney toon version of religion. Then God sends his only Son to be nailed on a cross to spill Blood so that all that buy into this story can get out of Hell. Those that don't will be roasting like a scalded piece of bacon for all of eternity in Hell. Sounds rational to me.

In Hebrew, Adam is mankind and Eve is womankind, therefore, I think it is another parable saying that humans failed to obay God and therefore God had to punnish humans by sending them to hell. That is where Jesus comes along and by himslef dying and going to hell himself for 3 days to beat Satin so that those that believe in him dont have to go to Hell as he took the wrap for all of our sins and still beat the devil!!

David

(well thats what I believe!!)

I think there have been enough discussions in the forums around religion, faith, etc. to literally fill a book. Suffice it to say that our experiences with religion, both good and bad, are as individual as games on this site and we all have a right to adhere to our particular understanding of the world, mankind, and maybe God. So if somebody's notion of God or lack of God sounds crazy, so be it. Let's play chess and have a good time. Kirk

Please... let me know what you know. Tell me our history as a race. Tell me just where it started and how our history formed. Let me know who Christ is if he is not Jesus... if there is one at all.. or will ever be.

Who was Jesus? What's up with the Bible? What will you be doing when you are dead? What info do you have that is more valid than one of the largest religions in the world.

Keep in mind, I am not Christian. Never claimed to be. Nor am I an Athiest.

I have no idea who's right... but you seem to. Enlighten us. If the Christians are so wrong, who is right??? You?

Sir, I wish I had seen enough of your example to follow it before opening my mouth on the topic of religion in these forums.

Uh, I'm not quite sure what you mean. I try to be civil to all (except in the clan forums). 😉 Kirk

I quite like pointless debates, but I must admit that this one about religion has got rather stale. Please, somebody throw it away before mould starts growing on it 😕

The debate in the "freethinkers" thread for instance is not just only about religion at all. It's also about trying to understand what is going on in the minds of human beings and that can be quite necessary in order to come to some degree of understanding and tolerance in order to be able to live together and to be able to communicate with one another.

We're in danger of starting a metadebate here...

Indeed. And by bringing up the nature of this metadebate, you started a metametadebate, because someone could dispute you.

"Metameta = meta." Discuss. 🙄

PS: Have you done my 'True/False' puzzle yet? If so, I'll try to think of a continuation.
