I can't remember the source but I read christmas was declared on december 25th to match the winter solstice in an attempt to convert other religions. By matching the dates you could convert them and still have them celebrate their traditions, this way they wouldn't feel a change in identity and would put up less fight.

Didn't Jesus originaly mean that a Church was the "person" who believes in God... not a structure to gather people into a strict regiment of rituals to prove their beliefs?

The body is the "Temple" in which the Holy spirit can live.
The Church is the community of people who have received the Holy Spirit.
... but then again I'm not a theologian ...... thank God ... 😕
