if you need a teacher, I'm sure someone will offer. I'd do it, but I'm
currently packing for holiday (I'm not that good, but know the basics -
like the horsey thingy moves in an L. lol.)
Maybe if you let us know how much you do know (like only how the
peices move or are you a little more advanced?) then people'll know if
they can help. If you've had no takers by the 16th Sept, challenge me
& we can play and talk about what's going on.
Freak - ON HOLIDAY!!!
I'm not very good either, but I had a quick look at your games. Two of them are against
people with ratings of 1600+, which means they have won many games and are likely to be a
tough challenge even to a reasonably strong player. One game you've only made one move,
and the other game you don't seem to be doing too badly. I don't think you have much to
worry about; play a few more games to completion before you start panicking about not
having enough wins to your name.
The players on this site have a wide range of abilities, and the rating gives you some idea of
how good they are. If you keep losing and find it disheartening, play people who are closer
to or below your rating. Then if you find you are winning too easily, you should start
challenging better-rated players. Generally, the worse at chess you are, the faster you'll
improve over time, so I wouldn't worry if success doesn't come immediately.
(By the way, I have played on this site for several months now, but recently decided to
change my nickname.)
