To experience this Christmas by its true meaning and give your
loved ones just a hug and words of love, not presents. If you really
must give something, then give a card made with your own hands,
not bought.

Take notes about their reactions and report back.

That is all. Good night.

I've been there and done that. After being called a cheapskate and after I administered a good curseout to that person(a friend) about the meaning of Christmas, all went well.

I will lite a candle in your honor, and your name will be mentioned in mass Christmas Eve 2009 at "Christ The King Church".

Excellent idea, Sir Seitse. Couldn't agree more. As the phrase goes...
Been there and been doing that since Christmas, 2007, with my dear friends and loved ones right here on Ye Olde RHP General Forum... and I still regard every day as Christmas. Sleep well.

Hasn't anyone told you it's frigging Monday? Jesus.

Darv, what in the world backward looking time zone are you

presently living in... here it's already Wednesday evening.

I suggest saving old Christmas cards from last year and recycling them this year by whiting out the old inscription and writing a new one over it. This reduces waste and your carbon footprint.

I know some people that don't give or accept presents at Christmas. Instead they just donate £200 to charity. I like this sentiment and would try it myself but for the concern of being called a Bah Humbug...

Those of us with little kids are out of this challenge!

My ex and I are bringing ours to Disney in January. That means just a few small items to indicate their BIG present.

For the most part, I could ace this challenge with the adults I know already.

Yes, and there are those that do both.

I think the true meaning of christmas and gifts go hand in hand. After all the 3 wisemen came bearing gifts.

How interesting... my son and his lovely wife are doing precisely the same

thing at the same time with their children (three of my six grandchildren).

we didn't do gifts after the early nineties. but when kids turned up in 2002, it was soon back to supporting commercial exploitation. it'll probably take at least another decade until there's any chance of getting back to christmas without buying loads of stuff.

Your are right. Those painted skulls will win any contest. For any season!🙂
