I used to hustle at pool a bit as a sideline when I was playing a pretty high level of darts in the North London leagues in the late 1980s. There was strictly no money/bets involved in the darts.
I met a pro darts player while I was in immigration.
He said anyone can do it if you're willing to practice 10 hours a day.
He was winning money in Montreal and surrounding tournaments until he got arrested.

10 hours a day throwing darts? No thanks.

Well, I wasn't a pro.

I couldn't tell the difference to be honest.

I've never had any hustling game whatsoever but I do enjoy competition.
Now that I think about it... I've never been good at anything 🤔

I've been known to lose a couple of games of pool with a tenner riding on it with the express purpose of winning fifty quid on the third [and last] game. Long time ago, mind you.

People going around telling others to die really should have thicker skin.

Edit: the ability to read is also a bonus.

He obviously went easy on me.

What causes humans to do that?

Pity? Care? Avoiding a psycho?
Billiards is a type of duck.

Why? It's not being used for anything else 😉

I think you'll find the real billiards is played on the continent - the name is Frog, after all - and mainly, these days, in the Netherlands and Belgium. Note that even that video found it necessary to specify that version as "English" Billiards, not just billiards.

Both snooker and driebanden are quite superior to English billiards - and to pool!
