Who else saw it and what's your opinion of the movie?
The new one is very good (I thought), and there is a thread about it on the second page.

If everyone thought like that, no-one would ever express an opinion.
It's a good movie to watch if you like Sci-fi and the special effects are awesome! 😵 But I was a little disappointed in the story line. Too much mushy-feely junk. 😕
I just got back from watching it... and I want the 4 hours (including trailers, travel etc) of my life back!!!
I was one of the WORST movies I have EVER seen. I thought the first half an hour was passable, but after that... utter garbage.
I will have to go against the people who have said its worth seeing (and if you ask me, its just a ploy to make everyone waste their time on this so they dont feel so bad) and say stay well away!
i enjoyed it, having liked the 50's version and the jeff wayne musical version i was waiting for this one with baited breath. yes while some bits were soppy it was a great film on the whole and the machines are how HG wells wrote them (on legs), i like the fact that they just turn up and start killing relentlessly with no explanation
Originally posted by CrowleyI'm a bit of a sci-fi purist so I doubt it's the sort of movie I'd voluntarily go and watch. I hated Dune (spaghetti sci-fi and the first movie I ever walked out of), didn't enjoy Star Wars and neither Star Trek. That genre of sci-fi movies I think should parody themselves. Ever seen Repo Man or Dark Star, for example?
Hmmm, I'm gonna go and watch it on Friday, so I will give you my opinion then 😉
For proper sci-fi I prefer Alien/s, Blade Runner, Mad Max (yeah, that fits into the genre) etc.

I saw it Thursday. I really liked it. The special effects were amazing.
Now Plan 9 from outer space is a great movie...cause it is so Awful!
