@great-big-stees saidMost of it is NOT music, but just noise.
understanding the “musical” genre called Rap...anyone else?🤔
Black people, and white-wannabe black people seem to like it.
Just my opinion, I don't like rap "noise".

rap ain't crude.
You've got to hold and give but do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast but you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you, defend and attack
There's only one way to beat them, get round the back
Catch me if you can, cause I'm the England man
And what you're looking at is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans, this ain't a football song
Three lions on my chest, I know we can't go wrong.
(A nod to John Barnes).
@great-big-stees saidSame here.

Nah.
@executioner-brand saidNo, jackass, I didn't say anything about banning music.
So ban music?
@great-big-stees saidI hear it as Gregorian chant for angry, disenfranchised, predominately Black, youth. Not my style, it does not speak to my condition.

Historically,Rap has its roots in Gill Scott Heron’s The Revolution Will not be Televised.
@dood111 saidNah, if you actually read the lyrics of a lot of music you’d be saying the same thing, only difference is that the world is racist and rap is seen to be mostly performed by black people so it’s always going to get a bad reputation in the media.
It glorifies criminals and their thug behavior.
The lifestyle it brags up has a horrible influence on young people and it contributes to a lot of our social problems.
This is hilarious:

@trev33 saidRap originated by black artists, but many are doing it now, of many races. It all sounds like noise to me, but then I am an older person. I can't make out half of what they are saying to be honest.
