If the "others" vision was 20/20 in context probably yes (as much so in the present and future as I have changed in the past).

If less than 20/20 objective and the agenda ulterior, their input would still become routine grist for my self examined life mill.

Wishes always come back to haunt... "I wish I was rich!"

Next thing you know one of your parents or spouse dies and you get paid big through life insurance.
