well you know how ppl refer to genesis as the book of genesis. revelation as the book of revelation. So all the in-between are books as well, so its roughly 60 odd books that make up the bible. The bible being a compilation of books and writers that spanned a period of about 3000 years.
just seems like cheating when asked to only pick one book.

If you are a publisher and they have a linking theme.

For example 3 modern crime stories all in a book would be fine.

i see your point , if one were to consider a compilation of short stories under a single publisher authored by different people yet still purchased as a single book as a collection .... I suppose that will be allowed in this thread. I was , and have been for sometime now, quite interested in this question. It is really amazing when people ponder the single notion that they are faced with choosing the best piece of writing they have ever read through all their collective experiences in literature to arrive at one choice is mind boggling to some. thanks for participating and happy holidays. big b.

id probably go with the book of psalms then, but I want multiple translations. is that acceptable?
