I would have said set up an online booze and fags importing business from Eastern Europe, but that idea was scuppered by yesterday's court ruling.

if you're looking for ideas for a commercial venture, my first question is: how much are you willing to pay for a good idea?

Supply and servicing coffee machines - I know someone who does and they make a fortune from it. You could probably buy into an already established small company.

Why not just reinvest in current business?

After all if it is doing well why do you want to risk money in a new venture?

Also is the £100K net of all tax liabilities? If not remember that he taxman will take a substantial slice depending on whether the business if run as a sole trader or a Ltd co.

Adram is right, plus you have to take into account the Russian mafia,
which will send a tuff guy to collect their protection money.

We're aware of the tax issues. Currently the company undertakes refurbishment, but it's a bitch of a job and we're both sick of it. This money was mean't to have been paid two years ago but the bastards saw fit to try and screw us for payment (which has happened consistently for over 20 years now, hence why my old man has had enough of this dogs life!) The company managed to trade out of trouble, but now we are finally going to recieve this money, which means we have a nice chunk to work with.

Te problem is that we haven't got a clue what to do. 😕 We could invest in a company, but we'd much rather do something which mean't we didn't have to do what we're doing (cos it sucks ass!)

Ideas, someone must have an idea??

First things first. Your dad should take a few of those pounds and splash out on an RHP subscription for his son.

We already pay the triads protection so we won't have to worry about that. 😉
