I'm a racist...

I never thought of myself as being a racist, but apparently I am.

It all started tonight when I was watching a new crime scene show called, "First 48". It's a new series that shows what happens in the first 48 hours after a crime has been committed.

While watching the show, a black man calls the police and says, "My little sister's brother got shot."

So, being a person who has learned the art of logic over the years, I tried to understand the ramifications of what this simple statement meant? Most people would've said, "My brother got shot", cause you would assume that his sister's brother would be HIS brother... but NO! The fact that he said, "My little sister's brother" means one of two things:

1) that it wasn't HIS brother or
2) that he has more than one brother, but the other one's are not related to his little sister!

Logic suggests that if your brother got shot you wouldn't reference him as 'your little sister's brother' so I must assume that his "little sister's brother" does not have the same parents as him, which is why he addresses him that way.

But now I'm thinking... he didn't say "My sister's brother got shot." but instead specified his "little sister's brother".

That means that he has more than one sister!

It also means that the two sisters do not have the same parents. He had to explain which sister's brother was shot; it was his 'little sister's brother', not his 'big sister's brother' or his 'oldest sister's brother'...

So apparently we have a person who has at least two sisters; which do not have the same parents. He CAN NOT have the same parent's as his "little sister", because that would make the victim 'his brother', which he does not refer to him in that manner. I would also think there is support to indicate that he does have more brothers, but this was his easiest way of describing the event to the police.

So when I sent all this to a friend, she told me "You're racist." 😲

Maybe he has a self awareness problem and his little sisters brother is himself.

Yeah when a little kid I know gets shot and I call the cops the first thing I think is "Hmm, am I sure all my pronouns are in order?"

Exactly, the guy was upset. That is why you were called a racist, Arrakis. Your immediate reaction was to overlook the drama and find a flaw due to the man's color.

So white people never have brothers with different mothers/fathers?

I was just going to ask Rakist if he would have had a different train of thought were it a white kid saying this.

Umm, he could have been talking about himself, as in he has been shot. Maybe the bullet made him confussed?

Has Rakist said he would have thought the same way for a white or black? I would sure have tried to figure this one out.

There is a 911 call they play on Jim Rome where someone calls 911 to report their boyfriend for abuse. The lady working the line askes, "What's his middle name?"

What the heck is that all about, she didn't even get ANY of his name yet.

When we hear something strange, we want to figure it out.

Now that I have a kid I watch the Teletubies. I sit there trying to figure out if the Sun is in control of the world, or the voice you hear... or the talking flowers.

What do all the switches in the TT Super Dome do? Do they control the TT world?

How do they make Tubby Toast? What's the deal with Naughty Noo-Noo??

These are things I MUST KNOW! My wife thinks I'm nuts.
