For the weekend to play in the New York State Open! I know you guys will miss me and I didn't want the "he got banned" rumors to fly, so I'm letting you know. So you kids are on your own for at least 54 or so hours; play nice and don't eat too much candy!
So what is your USCF rating? Good luck in the open.

I'm still a provisional and a short time tournament killed me in November (2 losses on time in a G/60); I'm hovering in the mid-1500's, though most of my OTB tourney performance are mid to high 1600's. Playing in the U1800 and hoping this one gets me over 1600 anyway. OTB with a clock ticking is a lot more pressure than CC, though this one is G/150 so I shouldn't get into time trouble.

I assume the number is the time-out, but what does the G stand for?

I still haven't tried playing OTB, but I think the clock would drive me mad.

Well, despite carrying your insults on and on and on...and even on to another thread....

Luck to you...or rather, skill to you... in the tourney.

The car's gassed up and ready to go; Lake George is a hour drive normally and it's rush hour on the Northway. Registeration ends at 6:30 and the beatings commence at 7 PM (hopefully I'm the beater, not the beatee). So, I leave you with the old Contumelious Clan Goad of the Day battle cry:

SEE YA MONDAY, LOSERS!!!!!!

Drive savely. Remember, don't think and drive. You know men can only do one thing at a time.

Good luck No1, there is nothing like the thrill of an OTB tourney.
