The car's gassed up and ready to go; Lake George is a hour drive normally and it's rush hour on the Northway. Registeration ends at 6:30 and the beatings commence at 7 PM (hopefully I'm the beater, not the beatee). So, I leave you with the old Contumelious Clan Goad of the Day battle cry:
SEE YA MONDAY, LOSERS!!!!!!
I'm back.
Losing to an 11 year old, even if he is some kind of Alaskan Scholastic Champion and has played in 45 tournaments, still sucks. That was Round 1 and I was shell shocked the rest of the tournament. I wound up winning 1, losing 3 and offered a draw in the last game even though I had a probable won endgame with a pawn up because I was deathly sick of chess. My rating which was lame to begin with, dropped a further 46 points; I walked into a pawn fork in the third round to lose a piece for cripes sake! 😞
Puffito1 in his first tourney did well, getting 2 1/2 points and a decent 1283 OTB rating. And two Grandmasters played each other in the Open section with Alexander Ivanov (15th in the US) winning a really instructive bishops of opposite color ending.
I'll post the link to the crosstables when it's posted to the USCF website.
EDIT: The TD was fast; it's already up: http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php?200604305691-13218112

Originally posted by RagnorakNo. The most interesting ones, esp. in the Open section, are supposed to be published in the NYSCA newsletter sometime in the future. I'm sure some of Ivanov's games will probably wind up on the usual databases as well; he's got over 400 on the ChessLive database.
Are the games somewhere on that site?
