Exactly and at any time, you can leave a private forum, alert posts or choose not to read posts (public) made by those you find offensive. I'd say in a private forum, you know where you're at pretty quickly. You can speak more freely for or against matters in private forum as well.

The "idea" I am referring to is that a picture of Kunte Kinte in chains is offensive to black people just because the person displaying it may be white. I'm sorry, but to say that (as you did) is not rational. Furthermore, to find it sooooooooooo offensive that you demanded/asked/requested the Site Admins to censor it is even more irrational given that you accept that other people's interpretations may very well differ from yours.

So you've done more than "express" your "opinion/interpretation of something"; you've demanded/asked/requested that your opinion/interpretation be accepted as the only valid one to the point that another's opinion/interpretation be stifled. I find that "offensive".
