To excercise one's vote in a free society is a solemn and American thing. Individual right of privacy trumps impertinent poster curiosity.
if you don't want to say that's fine.
an american thing? you yanks crack me up, like it's only in america that you get to vote freely for your leaders.
would i to right in saying that you voted for the winner in each of the last 3 occasions?
i've been out to the states a couple of times in the last 2 years and one thing that i've learnt unless you've got a set party that you'll vote for very year without fail americans are very 'follow the crowd' based.

Yes... believe it or not that's the cost of the week long extravaganza as reported on both USA TV and FM Radio yesterday. Hard to believe.
Edit: In fairness, cost of providing ramped up security for both the main actors and unprecedented crowds must be a major variable.
Please, just give it a rest for a change!
I think the cost variables are due to the size and scope of this particular crowd. The size is unprecedented.
This is truly a monumental day in the history of the US. Roughly 50 years after the start of the civil rights movement, an African-American male is our President; in 1958 blacks had to go to the back of the bus, couldn't vote, or use the same public amenities as whites. In 50 short (or long if you prefer) years, so much injustice has been undone (recognizing more needs doing). It gives hope to all future generations of Americans regardless of race, creed, color, religion (or lack of), age and sex or sexual orientation, that we are capable of movement and change. That is the real hope and promise of America.

Obama is the right man for the right time. The inauguration price tag is peanuts compared with the staggering cost of employing his predecessor for eight years.
id do the whole thing much cheaper, if only they had asked.
5000 bottles of asda pop £900
5000 bottles of dandylion and burdock £2000
250,000 corned beef sandwiches £15,000
250,000 jam sandwiches £12,000
1,000,000 cocktail (id use cheap hotdogs) sausages on sticks £10,000
500 multi color bags of baloons £500
500 packs party poppers £1000
a special banner saying " well done mr obama " £250
500 multi flavour packs of hula-hoops £500
use of my own music system and mix tapes for free
im not sure of the exchange rate but there should be change from 150,000,000 dollars.
More than 2 million people are in the crowd to watch Obama's inauguration today, more than 7 times as many that turned out to watch both of Bush's inaugurations. It seems to me that this not only says something about the historic event taking place today, but it also says something about Bush, the worst president the U.S. has ever had.
Obama is left-handed. So is Bush. There have been lots of presidents that have been left-handed, far more than the average in the general population. I wonder why that is. Since we know that the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, it's certainly not because only left-handed people are in their right minds, because there's no way on God's green earth that applies to Bush!
Why are the people celebrating? One reason is because Obama is the new president, but another is because Bush is outa there!
