I have the Simpsons chess set, my sister bought it for me for my last birthday. It's pretty good, but would have been better if they had had different characters for black/white.
I used to have a Simpson's chess set too.
But it was bright blue and yellow and the opposite colour was bright green and yellow and the squares where blue and green.
It was a nightmare trying to play on it.

This is the set I have been coveting lately:

http://www.chessexpressstore.com/gian6staunch.html

The description says: This Chess/Checkers Set features an enormous 22" x 22" x 3" walnut board (2 1/8 squares), as well as 6" Staunton Style Chess Pieces (1 3/4" base). The set functions both as a chess set and a checkers set. The wooden pieces are weighted, to provide extra stability, and are stored within separated compartments within the set.

a us marine, yes. an officer, no. i am a 22 year old lcpl climbing the enlisted ranks. i would enjoy having a crack at an officer but he would probably wipe the board with me.
