Originally posted by PBE6It could have a special move too called En passedout this is where the player actually falls a sleep after too much alcohol and slumps down on the board, knocking off all the pieces. Ruining the game, and as nobody can remember the position of the pieces, the match has to be declared a draw.
The Drunk - Moves like a knight, but not on purpose. Smacks the pawns around then passes out while strangling the bishop. Smells funny, like Mommy at Christmas. Comes with scale Colt 45.
this is a great thread with lots of innovative and funny ideas
here's mine:
the pikemen - - it would be specifically to kill the knight. would be shaped as a man standing with a pike and pointed helmet. all the pikemen would be moved at the begining of the game to break up the board. could be moved ANYWHERE. then the game would start and they could no longer be moved. Only thing that could kill them would be pawns. They would kill any Knights that became adjacent to them.
the ship (could be called any ship from history) - - would have it's own row on left and right sides of board. could move up and down that row only. could only attack pieces that are straight across from it on the board. moves one space at a time. attack range... all the way across but must have nothing else in the way. vulnerable to castles. castles could destroy them from any number of spaces away as long as they're straight across from it. also vulnerable to pawns if they are in the adjacent square.

BOYSCOUT:
a pawn moving one field in diagonal and taking in front of him. Cannot go/take back
BOMB (from chinese chess)
moves like a Rook but have to jump over an obstacle to be able to take
EAGLE
moves in two steps: a square in diagonal first and then slip the line/column along like a rook
AMAZON
mix of a Knight and a Queen
ATOMIC KAMIKAZE
spread death on the 8 squares around him when taken
ZOMBI
normal pawn that cannot be taken. On the last line the ZOMBI has to be replaces on his begining line
WALL
a neutral piece, laid on the chessboard as an untakable obstacle for both player
BETRAYER
a queen laid in the middle of the chessboard that can be played by both opponent, but cannot be taken

X-CHANGE
allows a player to change the position of two own pieces, each one going on the square left free by the other
CRAZY CASTLING
when the king and a rook are on the same line/comlumn, they can castle, if there are min. 2 fields free between them
FUSION
you bring one of your piece on a square occupied by another own piece in order to create a superpiece who can move like both of its parents

I hope you appreciate my ideas. Thanks you for your comments.
The T-rex. Moves like a bishop and a knight, but can only capture peices that have moved within the last two turns. Likes to roar and is scary. If the game enters the endgame, the T-Rex becomes extinct and both die. It then lays down on the square it last occupied, and all the other peices crowd around and try to analyze it.
