It appears everyone who attended the meet-up in Dublin at the weekend had a fine time - evidence here in the photos ([eventid]2[/eventid]). I would like to thank Cadwah on behalf of all those who attended for organising this one.

BTW : If you can arrange a "Guinness consumption competition" to be held alongside the chess tournament for the next one ...[text shortened]... ]might[/i] even be able to win a nice little shiny trophy too...it looks very cool indeed. 😵

Hey I could go with Vegas, Dallas, or even Philly. It's like noboby in the US wants to do it. The folks across the pond have had a bunch of meets.
Vegas is about a 10 hour drive from here, so not promissing that I would make it to a meet there, just that it is more centrally located to California, Utah, Arizona, etc.
for the record, i went there to win. preparation : dozens of 1 minute and 5 minute games on uchess.com in the run up to the event ^___^' and no alcohol
ie. Con (Rossroe=me) "sure i'll get you two pints of guinness.."
several minutes later...
Con: "here you go...two pints...and a coke for me!" 😀
nice photo's indeedy, and the captions were very very funny 😀 and for the record that local punter was the local club's best player! dont knock my "2 wins no losses" win against him!!
I liked the double chess as well, have not done that in years (for the record for anyone unfamiliar with this -> 4 players, 2 teams, black & white vs white & black, teammate passes captured pieces to teammate who can place any captured piece from the other board anywhere on his side of the board (without putting the opponent into check) chess clocks are really a must for this though!!
re: caption "Rossroe is baffling st00p1dfac3 with his amazing 'I'll rearrange the peices a bit' tactic" all lies!! i was showing him how he "could have" killed me. thankfully he missed the opportunity 😀
You should ahve taken a picture of that other game, where M Ceillier spent eternity looking at his board after i told him he had a winning position if he could find the next move...he found the next move after forever, and then, what does he do? he rushes his next move after that, giving his queen away...priceless! I just shook my head and laughed quietly 😀😀
How come theres no mention of the disadvantage I had - having to play with those funky chess pieces???
yea, that game re: deep thought took 4ever. i calculated it at 16 moves in the first 90 minutes... :/
in conclusion, a great event thanks again for arranging it. - being a sportsman, i have no problem arranging the trophy/prize money for next time. least i can do😀
re: a few pictures that did not make the cut - HA! that girls ass, i swear we were all staring at it for an hour.
