@Drewnogal saidChristmas now starts on December 1st.
Yes it is 🎄
We all need to make the most of it imo.
@Drewnogal saidI remember with you 🙁
Last year was my saddest Christmas ever 😢
This year I got my ceramic tree lamp out in November. It’s been a great comfort.
We have a stuffed polar bear which comes out on Dec 1st to mark the commencement of the Season.
@Drewnogal saidIn which case I withdraw the Humbugs and wish you a joyous Christmas.

@diver saidThe Anglicans and the Episcopal Church in America celebrate both Advent and the Epiphany as well, with feasts and seasons for both.
What you are describing is (I think) a catholic tradition.
I’m in working class tradition; as in the here and now dealing with all the crap tradition.
As an aside, Jan. 6, or Epiphany, is also the date of church celebration of Jesus' baptism and the wedding miracle at Cana, even though the date of the wedding miracle was three days after his baptism.
