Here is what I can’t stand.

We have a neighbor across the street that we rideshare children to school with every day. He drops them off in the morning and we pick them up at the end of school day. About once a week he is not home when we get back from school with his six year old daughter so we are ...[text shortened]... late without calling or be passive aggressive and beat his windshield out with a hammer?

You turn the other check
Matthew:5:38-42
38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.
41If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Why should his problem be mine? He don't exactly shovel my driveway when it snows...
You obvious have issues with the father, yet you still trust this guy to take your kids to school because it is convient for you. ? What sort of parent are you ?

Being late and not calling has nothing to do with safety. Did I miss something? Is there a corralation between being safe and unreliable?
I'm all ears.....

If so I missed the study and would like to read up on the topic.

Thanks for the link in advance.

I would say there is a corralation between being safe & unreliable.

What about when he left his son in the car ? & the fact he never even apologies for knocking over your mail box. Not exactly responsible is it. Then what about the way he brings up his kids, you seem to have big issues with that ?

If I had a neighbour like that I wouldn't let him take my kids to school. But then its your choice not mine.

Unfortunately you will have neighbors like that.

Are kids will never ride in a car without a seatbelt. They wont. (emphasise the Period)

The school is two blocks away.

Being unreliable has absolutely nothing to do with safety and I dare you to prove it does.

I beg to differ, unreliablity & safety are paramount. For example you wouldn't want an unreliable person driving a large crane on a construction site, as any resulting accident would be very costly & life threating.

Even the best behaved kids will try to get away without wearing a seat belt. How do you know that this guy is reliable enough to enforce your children so that they are wearing seat belts? How do you know that he won't park up his car & leave it running whilst your kids are still in it ?

Dont talk to me about constuction sites. It is my life. A late crane opperator is just that...late. Reliability would be a problem if I was paying for a lift at 7:00am and the clown showed up at 8:00am. Then I would be a little pissed at 238.00$ per hour.
As far as the other, how do you know that when you or someone you love is not crossing the street in front of a drunk. What a silly insinuation.

Maybe an alternative. The only hook is that we pick up more kids in the afternoon than he drops off in the morning. He makes two runs, one early for his son who is in "special" classes because he is disruptive in the class (big suprise another waster of other peoples time and I have to pay for it with my taxes). He drives a pickup and doesn't have the room.

there was a mom who wanted to join our carpool, but she couldn't fit all the kids in her car and could not figure out a way to contribute altho i provided several hints ... she was pretty mad when i wouldn't let her "join" ...

i'm sure i'm missing something here, but if the school is only two blocks away, why don't your kids walk?
