I think I have a solution to your problem . It's roots come from a situation my GF had with some neighbors while still with her first husband . They were a young couple , and just moved to Boseman , MT . They barely were settled in , and the neighbors came over and introduced themselves . They seems nice , chatty , and very welcoming . It was about 3 in the afternoon when they showed up . The tea kettle went on , and the conversation just kept rolling . My GF's husband came home from work , which fueled more conversation . It was now getting on past 6 , and the neighbors showed no sign of leaving . So they invited the new neighbors to stay for supper . Very soon after the meal , the neighbors excused themselves and went home . The next day , they showed up around 3 again , and again just hung out until invited to stay for dinner again . And again , they left quite abrubtly after dinner , not even offering to help clean up . This continued on for a couple of weeks , not every night , but most . It became obvious that they were freeloaders , and actually quite rude . The gf and hubby didn't want to make an awkward situation worse , as they had to live next to these people for a while .
The hubby came up with a brilliant idea for the next time they came over , and stayed for dinner . Just before the couple was ready to leave after eating , they put the plates on the floor and let the dog lick them clean . Then they picked the plates up and stacked them in the cupboard with the clean dishes .
The neighbors never came over again , even if invited .
So invite your neighbors over for a warm fuzzy evening of dining , and do the same . I bet he never dumps his kids on you around supper time , or leaves them long enough for an after school snack !

Here is what I can’t stand.

We have a neighbor across the street that we rideshare children to school with every day. He drops them off in the morning and we pick them up at the end of school day. About once a week he is not home when we get back from school with his six year old daughter so we are ...[text shortened]... late without calling or be passive aggressive and beat his windshield out with a hammer?

Why don't you move to a real city that has school buses and normal people?

Dr. S

P.S. Nevermind. I just remembered you tried that once and got fired.

I am contemplating that. Maybe I will move to your town and we can be buddies.

Actually, I am thinking the Pacific Northwest. Washington or possibly Oreon. I gotta get into the big woods by the ocean.

Sure. You could get a job with the Border Patrol. I hear government jobs are easy to keep. I bet they would let you use your rifle and hunting dogs. If not, you could always volunteer with the Minute Men.

Naw. They wouldn't like me in the patrol. I think they should pop'em the minute they set foot over the border. That would go a long way in the discouragement department in my book.

Besides that I don't have any desire to live in another landlocked state again.
