Not impossible but why not just get them to do an online free virus scan at somewhere like;

Norton has a free, online virus and security check.

I only run a firewall, no virus protection.

Don't need it if you are careful. Been running like this for over 2 years and haven't had even one problem. Machine runs cleaner.

edit - Whoops, sorry. URL for Norton is www.symantec.com, then look around for the virus check - edit

BT Broadband used to give free Zonelabs subscriptions to their customers which says a lot about it's quality... 😕

I've used AVG for years with no issues at all

The free version of Zone Alarm, from Zonelabs.

Never had any problem with it, I run invisible and have never had any conflict with it.

edit - I also use Firefox from Mozilla instead of IE. Much more secure and it runs faster on my machine than IE does. - edit

I saw Stephen Lack do something like it in a David Cronenberg film once. If Stephen Lack can do it, anyone can.
