@The-only-Mr-T saidafter the covid egg fiasco of 2017
But can you still buy eggs?
a few of us smarter texans got together and invested in river monkeys
now,
when i tell you these river monkeys lay some great eggs, i'm not just pulling yer leg
BIG eggs, and plenty of them too
and the river monkeys don't need a lot of supervision neither
their vision is just fine thank you very much
now,
my aunt gladys of the HOA women's club found out these river monkeys also give milk!
not a lot of it
and it tastes a bit funky
but it's enough to wet yer cheerios in the morning for sure for sure
you may be asking, well, what do these river monkeys eat?
don't know don't care as long as the eggs keep coming
if you wanna invest, for £1200 sterling i can get you a seat on the monkey board

@rookie54 saidOn top of all that the storm is going to hit over half the American States, there is sure to be Power outages all over.

@The-only-Mr-T saidYes, and the price of eggs has dropped quite a bit -- but maybe they are full of different strains of bird flu to help bolster our immunity to this and that (at least those of us who don't freeze to death this winter).
But can you still buy eggs?
@Very-Rusty saidI'm sure the Trump admin will deal with that as well as they have done with hurricanes and floods.

@Earl-of-Trumps saidDear Earl, I hope you have some backup plans and warm places to bug out to just in case.
it's going to be brutal. I'm shivering already
@Suzianne saidYeah, everyone's favorite bearded and chronically mournful-looking abuela.
@rookie54
"it's gonna get cold in texas"
And Ted Cruz hops a flight to Laguna Beach.
For a while my parents lived in the Pasadena area, and one time when I visited them they took me down to Laguna Beach, where we visited an art festival and later a music store.
The long-winded potential connection to your post is that to my embarrassment, when we went in to the record store, albums by Circle Jerks and Butthole Surfers were prominently displayed right near the entrance. Luckily, my parents didn't seem to notice or just took it all in stride.

@rookie54 saidUnfortunately, in this country we have learned that no-one is coming to save us.

Hoping you have one or more plans to stay warm.
Also, please be careful on the roads, because it seems Texas somehow does not have snowplow trucks or trucks to salt the roads if those get icy -- however, there might be some Texan drivers out there during this rare opportunity specifically to practice their ice-drift skills.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidHere's an old musicians' joke:
ahh, well... I have this book of matches. 🙄
Why are cellos better than violins?
Because they burn so much longer.
@Arkturos saidIf they lived in Pasadena, they were used to that.

I used to play at open mike nights at art festivals around Scottsdale and Tempe.
"And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say, "Man, what are you doin' here?" "
Good times.
@Very-Rusty saidMeh.
