@Very-Rusty saidBack in the early 60s I skied a lot at Mount Tremblant, north of Montreal and there were a lot, well quite a few days when the temp at the top of the mountain was in that range. These “issues” are cyclical though with Climate Change/ Global Warming, they are happening more often than usual.
You will not be alive to know that. The UK may be wishing for the rain the once had, but then I will not be alive for certain! I am sure you've heard of the climate warming and places getting weather they never saw before.
There are those who believe we are heading to another change in our climate, which very well could be what is going on. Quebec and Ontario and the P ...[text shortened]... and -55. If you threw water in the air it would come down as snow!! Cold enough for you? 😉

@Great-Big-Stees saidAt those temps one has to watch for frost bite. So you are a skier too!! Do you still do the hills? I never could get the hang of skieing I could go in a straight line down a hill so long as no one was in the way, If you were best move or get run over. I would skie down a hill yelling Fore!!!!... LOL ....... Oh the memories from back in younger years.

I remember them talking about Global warming back in the 70's and everyone laughed at it saying was just a joke, no joke anymore. Happens they were correct all along.

@Very-Rusty saidProbably not the younger generation.
Does everyone in England keep up with the tradition of the afternoon Tea?

@Very-Rusty saidI haven’t downhill skied for about the same number of years I haven’t played hockey(8-9)…my knees told me when it was time to hang up the hockey equipment and skis, though I still skate and do a bit of cross country skiing.

@Very-Rusty saidThat was a huge factor in my knee issues though luckily, thus far, no need for any invasive/reconstructive surgery. I may have retired from both hockey and skiing before that needed doing.🤞👍

@Great-Big-Stees saidThat was a smart move on your part, some go too long and knee or hip replacements sometimes have to be re-done, as they only last for so long. I had a sister passed now and she had both a knee and hip replacement, no fun and a lot of time and Physio afterwards.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidIndeed your working all your body muscles and core, a lot of walking if you don't use a golf cart and drive around.

@Very-Rusty saidIt also makes sense to integrate exercise into something you enjoy doing.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidLike walking - long walks are miraculous. 3 km isn't much but it made all the difference for me today.

@Torunn saidCongrats. But go easy on the treacle tart.

Apparently just a myth about it being too cold to snow, so long as there is moisture in the air it will snow. The states is getting hit hard, a women was saying she couldn't go out it was so bad. I believe last I heard 17 States of our neighbors to the South are getting hit. Our turn will come tonight starting around midnight and suppose to continue until around noon on Tuesday, but that can change along the way. I just hope we don't lose Power and if we do it isn't for too long.
I wonder if Russ has thought about timeouts for people that may lose their power for a considerable amount of time?
