WTF??? All my playlists suddenly disappeared! (All the original tunes are still there, but the playlists are GONE!) I had hundreds of albums neatly organized...anyone have any idea what's up?

Eternal gratitude promised for any solutions.

Thanks!

-R

P.S. Already tried a "system restore"--no luck.

Not too sure, what does it say in your Library when you open itunes?

Do a search for .ITL files, and you should come across files in a directory called "Previous iTunes Libraries" with names like "iTunes Library 2007-04-24.ITL"

You should then be able to import the most recent one into iTunes.

"system restore" should have wiped it out, but i have a friend who lost her entire collection on itunes for no apparent reason.
itunes is a wind-up. its so protectionist.

I've noticed tunes gradually dissapearing from my playlists until some are empty. Seems to have happened since upgrading to iTunes 6 or 7 back whenever that was done.

Just about given up on them tbh.

Thanks, I don't think I have any old ITL files, though. I only found the most recent one.

I think I'm eff'd. 😞

Have you ever shut your computer down when you have been upgrading itunes??

I'm not sure. I don't think so. Are you saying that could cause this sort of thing? What a friggin' nightmare.

Let this be a lesson, kids. Stay in school and back up your files. 😳
