How can your sign up info not add up?! He clearly joined the site in an attempt to imitate Jean Hebert, so why would he not have put that he was from Canada and JH's name when he signed up. And didn't someone else subscribe for him?

With any luck Russ in the future will watch for this and check quicker, I believe there is something in the TOS about pretending you are someone else.

"Hello,
Thank you for letting me know that someone has borrowed my name. I have
never played on that site. I am curious to know who might be that person
using my name but I guess there is no sure way to find out.
Best regards,
Jean Hébert"

I emailed him but I didn't get a reply.
Wormwood would need to defend the credibility of the email, I was sold with Russ saying his info din't match the real Jean.

Originally posted by Mephisto2I play for the Correspondence Chess League of America, which is basically a postal orginization, but they do offer e-mail tmts. I've experienced almost no "cheating" or obnoxious people in either postal or e-mail. I think this is because you aren't anonymous…people know your real name and address. People do/say things they wouldn't do if everybody knew who they really were.

Originally posted by Phlabibitwell, I got his email-address from Fédération québécoise des échecs, emailed him, and he got back to me within hours. I have no reason to think it wasn't him.

anyone could do the same, and ask him if I really emailed him. and then someone else could ask him if that person had really emailed him asking about me. and then someone else etc. etc. until everyone at rhp would've contacted him. 🙂 not very practical, though...
