@divegeester
one of the very best parts of the movie was when i began to understand a personal jealousy of a storied actor who is nigh universally revered
when joker shot the character played by robert deniro i was simply overjoyed and cheered
he does not die often enough
yes, i know i need to check into rehab
no, i will not
-Removed-I posted on this thread in a reasonably constructive way, commenting on the fact that the last two actors to play 'Joker' in major films won Oscars.
Since then it has degenerated into 2 posters taunting another.
I do not see any reference in this thread to this Liverpool fan's former profession. one can MAYBE guess from his criticism of the film linking mental illness with, well, psychotic behaviour. If tweedle dum or tweedle dee can direct me to where that was made clear, I would appreciate it.
It looks like the site's WWC tag team have triumphed again! (In their own heads)
@relentless-red saidSo just to be clear, what is it about Joker? You wish it hadn't been made? Or you are ok with it being made but you wish it had been about something else?
You seem to struggle with the idea I might hold a different opinion to you about a genre of movies.

@relentless-red saidSo, you believe that it's a "misconception" to think psychosis can lead to violence and criminality?
In general though I do think film makers cash in on popular misconceptions about mental health/illness and I do think that sets back health education.
If you had made a film about the iconic character Joker, if not psychosis, what would you have portrayed as being the cause of his violence and criminality?
@blood-on-the-tracks saidIt'll be interesting ro see petewxyz responds to any of my points.
