Well SOMEBODY lied. Dr Phil is worth 340 mil and gets 70 mil a year!
I do absolutely hate her persona on the show. It's far too undignified to be a judge. I suspect that she also acts like that for ratings; Americans are too bored with a "normal" judicial process, where evidence is weighed and a judgement is made based on the arguments. People want to see emotion and attitude. That's what drove "reality" TV for for the last decade. Thank god it's dying out.
However, I did see an interview with Judy in an informal setting; she actually quite sweet. Judy told a story of someone fixing her laundry washer, and how she asked the repairman for a favor regarding doing so. To her surprise, the repairman, being a fan of her show, offered to replace the washer for free. During the entire time Judy told this story, she showed such a sweet humility and thankfulness as she recounted the incident. She was a shockingly different person.
"Feminine" isn't a word most people would associate with her on-screen persona, but she was rather delightfully so during that one interview I saw. True, it was a very brief interview, and being the only one I've seen from her, it may not have been an accurate representation of her as a person. But it was still nice to see.
