Hi, Dive. Fact is that during the past thirty days lively new threads as well as overall member/subscriber posting volume are down. Take a quick look at page one of the general forum. Right now it contains 'Last Post' activity from May 5 to May 9. Previously it took 2-3 days worth of interest to fill page one. Sadly, there are no less than forty 1-9 post threads on gf pages 1-3.

This used to be a very vibrant place, with a lot of quality people posting, not everybody would agree with what was being posted, but on the whole it was a good read.

There was always a good variety of threads, and if one particular poster was not your cup of of tea, you didn't have to read their stuff.

Picking on the ones that have the consistency to stick with it, is poor show.

I think where it went wrong was in the site owners choice of screws, I mean Mods.
When they were allowed to abuse their power and reinforce their own campaign, it sort of stopped being a fun place *** Lights paper and stands back***.

If it doesn't pick up, I am going as well.
Will you have a party for me?

Simple statement of fact, Dive, which related to your side bar with Suzianne.

Wonder whether or not this change may reflect a seasonal spring downturn.

Agreed, to a point. If people don't like it they should immediately resort to incessant moaning, personal insults and sweeping generalisations. I doubt it'll improve things, but at least it should set off the occasional entertaining argument.

Just a friendly...

Just a friendly word within a word insertion/language game.

Here are a few to get our conversational game ball rolling:

* So when did Nordlys loan Crowley her microwave owl?

* How did site poet 'rookie' write the ode in moderation?

* Russ & Chris poured cement into Site Announcements.

* Wonder which lady lost an undergarment in cerebral.

* Which wannabe cowboy hid his firearm in epistolary?

* Guess which pal fought hard for the suffix in sardine.

* And which bloke decided the spelling of Great Britain?

Out...... Shouting Matches... Uncouth Barbs.

Edit: And, by the way, who put the our in courteous discourse?

You don't like silence?

The sound of silence is the nicest to hear.

Also, it is better than having to hear screaming children all day....

Of course... we all enjoy interludes of silence, by choice rather than imposed.

Edit: Wonder which wise soul placed lose in closed as opposed to open.
