This may ramble. It is my opinion and that is all there is to it.
An attack is going on again. Players attacking players because they feel their "high moral ground" is better than others, thusly others should be made to live up to this level or be made to face ridicule and accusations.
Before you ask, either you know who I am talking about or you don't but I won't throw about names.
A long standing member of RHP has been under an unjust attack, for playing a character that was questionable. It could be made to be disrespectful, but I don't believe that at any time it was ever meant to be. Until recently his routine went on without complaint. He pushed the character a bit far at points, and was reprimanded for it. So he should be left alone at this point. Basically just watch what he is saying.
In come the PC's (for those who don't know, PC's are those who think in political correctness). Those who want to push the PC envelope to a point that the only things that can be said is I am me, and nothing more. I made a point in stating that I play a character that I am most certainly not, only to be met with laughter. but it truly brings to question how long before I am told I can't pretend to be something I'm not. I really don't think it such a huge stretch. After all I can no longer drink (Health reasons) and I don't really come from a Klingon Empire, but how long until I am told it is just not right or decent to pretend this? It really isn't as much of a stretch as what it may appear.
There are plenty of others who aren't what they appear here, and I am certain that as soon as their secret is found out, will also be under the same attack. So the question really goes to when is enough, enough? When can we just play our roles? When or how do we stop these "Moral" people? Don't lay it out that it is Christians acting this way. I am Christian and these people aren't acting like the Christians I know. Criticize me for being Christian if you want. It's not the point here.
The forums here are supposed to be a place of escape, thought provoking, ideas, just plain loopy games, or whatever, not a place of attack, or condemnation.
Anyway as I said, its just my opinion.

Why don't YOU just leave them alone, or you one of those people who wants to control the way some act while letting others do as they please because of your 'opinion'?

Of course everybody is free to play whatever role they like..
HOWEVER, if you see so many complaints / reactions, it should be obvious that somebody went too far with it.. these complaints / reactions are not random, not out of the blue.. APPARENTLY it came to a point that many people didn't perceive it anymore as fun..
Instead of hanging on to this impersonation and thinking that ALL those other people are wrong, think about the reason why so many do feel offended or anything else that makes them react..
I do agree that everybody is entitled to their own opinion, has freedom of speech, etc.. but sticking to that when you see so many reactions (from people who have the same rights..) should make you think..

My opinion is what it is. I'm not, nor have I had any attempt, nor can I control anyone. What I can do is voice my concern, my thoughts, and my opinions. As long as they aren't blatent lies, slanderous remarks, half truths, or otherwise damaging and degrading towards others, then I still can place my opinions here.
The statement I made was less concerning of this most recent of incidents but rather where will it end?

Except for one or two comments (usually in the debates forum), I've never seen anyone step over a line which I find insulting in any way.
I'm not sure who we're talking about here, nor is it to the point, but I certainly agree that people play roles (not only on this board, but usually you play a different role at work than at home, etc. etc.) and obviously some roles will seem over the top to some people.
DON'T READ THEIR POSTS IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM.
It seems simple enough to me.
There's nothing more disgusting than finger wagging majorities.
EDIT: Let me add to that...
There's nothing that gets on my tits more than finger wagging moralists. Full stop. They don't even have to be a bloody majority.
Originally posted by KJCavalierSo the majority always has the right to pick on minorities. That's why you don't mind someone pretending to be a member of the minorities and painting them in a bad light.

Fantastic.

I have no idea what any of this is about. But I feel like joining in anyway.
Is it right to prevent people voicing their opinions if those opinions are offensive to some other people? No. People should be allowed to say what they like. They should be condemed for it if it is offensive but hey, thats what they were expecting anyway right?
