All of this "democracy" you are frothing about is really just "something someone once heard about". The political right is just using the unwashed masses to forward their political agenda and gain power through whipping the masses into a froth over lies.

I'm not about to "make the best of it" over lies. I'm not "bending over" for our new overlords. The political right has set their agenda and now that they have control over both houses and the White House, there damn well better be something coming down the road a hell of a lot better than another Great Depression, which is exactly what happened 6 months after this happened the last time.

Another failed Libertarian experiment then, another failed Libertarian experiment 8 months from now. I'm just praying that we don't get fooled again. But I'm not having a lot of hope at this point. Just enough people got fooled this time so that we'll all have to pay, and pay, and pay. And the rich get richer. Whatever happens, don't stop the money conveyor to the top 1%. The rest of us will just have to be happy selling pencils on the street corner again, and standing in bread lines, and hoping we get a job that pays more than a dollar a day after the dollar gets devalued down to a nickel's worth. For you to declare the simple uncontroversial observation that the left has been making its own pitch at "the unwashed masses" for many decades - via the promise of redistributed wealth through benefits and entitlements - a "lie", is peculiar, to put it mildly.

You made comparisons/references to the Nazis, the concentrations camps, and Trump. And ever since you were called on it, you have been dodging and deflecting.

Criticism of this kind of ludicrous hyperbole, regardless of how disappointed you are with the election result, is most certainly "legitimate".

The BEST of it? When his first official statement is to kill the Department of education? This is ALREADY turning rotton and he isn't even in office yet.

It's all about the Republican agenda, kill governement so there is no oversight to business so we can go back to 14 hour days and wages like China. Of course that is hyperbole but that is the aim, role back oversight, let business run the empire, screw climate change, ecology, workers health, working conditions. Let them eat cork.

By the way, millenials voted overwhelmingly for Hillary, so I'm not quite sure where you're going with that little tidbit.

This just feels like another "twist in time", like I've heard some older people say this week. The ones who remember the Kennedy assassination. The same general feeling that "this wasn't supposed to happen". The same feeling of incredible, devastating loss.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out the Republicans "engineered" this result. But we'll never know until it is far too late to do anything about it and the damage is done.

I hear you, man. Being told to "suck it up" by a bunch of Brexit voters doesn't really mean too much.

The impending breakdown of the EPA is what I fear.

And the "privatization" of other government agencies, like my place of employment.

I'll consider myself lucky to hit the other side of this nightmare still having a job. Yet there's plenty of people here, doing the same job I do, who voted for Trump. The Republicans have hypnotized the populace well. They've nearly shot their collective foot clean off, along with everyone else's, but they're partying anyways.

Maybe now, they'll finally wake up.
