@caesar-saladsaid I'm not quite sure I agree with this, but it is something to think about. Emergent strategies at least, adopted by some or many to deal with the biological horrors and mental contretemps of life. Fragile, yes. Not necessarily dishonest in all cases.
Humans lie to themselves more than anyone else. Perhaps it’s not intellectually dishonest to believe that family will always be there for you, that there’s a higher purpose in life and that God or Gods guide your path. However these things all amount to adult security blankets. Life is not all candy and rainbows. It’s sharp edges and uncertainty.
