But the fact we are even talking about this seems to belie the notion we are simply physical objects performing functions. If so then something like empathy becomes irrelevant, and abuses are simply a fact of life.

I've never been able to convince myself this is all there is to it... that our existence is nothing more than actions and reactions and performing functions. This is what insects do, and it's highly unlikely they stop what they are doing to reflect on their lives and wonder over their own existence.

I always keep emergency Cash on hand and use it for Coffee and my better half latte or what every she may be having on that day. That is besides the Emergency Cash. 🙂

Mostly the old folks, the younger bunch do everything on their cards. Now if there is a power outage they can't get a thing in the community they are in unless one has cash.
