I know some of you do not use AOL. AOL has a September 11
Memorial at http://memorial.web.aol.com/memorial.adp
I invite you all to visit it and light a candle if you wish.

I just revisited the site. Non AOL members may not be able to add a
candle. But you are invited to visit the site anyway.

At the latest count more than 3,000 Afghan civilians have died in the
war against terror, as precision bombing has proved somwhat less
precise than we were led to believe. Maybe they deserve a candle or
two as well? A life is a life in my book - each precious and each of
equal value.

Maybe Osam Bin Laden will light a candle for them. I agree though
live is precious wherever you live.

Osama Bin Laden is not an Afghan. He's a Saudi Arabian who used
Afghanistan as a convenient hideout because his own country
recognised him as a lunatic. Given he was busy colluding with a
Taliban regime which was ruthless in its repression of the Afghan
people, I very much doubt he will have cared two penneth about the
loss of innocent lives. Which is precisely why we in the Western world
should.
Sorry, I realise this is nothing to do with chess.
