I am an ex-smoker. I worked on a vascular ward as a student where I met somebody who was smoking with their one remaining limb and even then it took a few years before I stopped. Incredibly, when I finally did, it wasn't that hard to stop. I just changed jobs and told everyone I met I was a non-smoker. Bizarrely nobody wants to see a non-smoker accept a cigarette, but ...[text shortened]... lieve the myth that after a certain age there are no benefits from quitting. That simply isn't true.

Ya, I know, brother, and thanks for your words, which maybe I'll heed one day. I feel suitably and understandably chastised. Anyway on a happier note and for no particular reason, we're flying to Jogjakarta in a few hours; Indonesian international borders remain effectively closed, but we can still travel around within in.

Thanks, it's effectively the cultural centre of Indonesia, at least very 'approachable' by tourists, and a good way in to this amazing archipelago.
As an experienced Far Eastern traveler you should put it on your 'go to' list, then pop over to Sulawesi to see us, you know you'd always be welcome. Meantime when you're ready, put a couple of games up, I begin to miss our conversations....
