You have just described me perfectly and I have never smoked.

In my case it was more irritability for a good 3 months straight. Some would say it never did go away....LOL....I quit Smoking back on 2004. You literally couldn't look at me for the first 3 months. I found it easier after that, but the smell of cig smoke bothers me to this day! I had been a long term smoker. 10 -12 packs of Dentine gum every day helped some. I wouldn't call them mild withdrawal symptoms, those around me at the the time, could back me up on that one.

I remember the feeling of emptiness as the only issue I had when I quit smoking in 1993. "What's the point of going into a coffeeshop, or relaxing at home or have wine, if I can't smoke?" That lasted about a year, then life felt normal and I never thought of smoking again.

I have yet to hear of anyone who quit both drinking and smoking at the same time.

Were you a long term smoker?

How are you doing with this?

Me: have abstained from alcohol for 8 months, and I've been lifting weights pretty consistently. But.....I smoke cigarettes, drink too much coffee and soda, and avoid cardio exercise (due to smoking), and avoid ab work (laziness).

I haven't made any resolutions, but I can do much better with my lifestyle.

I should also get a physical exam, which I haven't done in years.
Congratulations on the healthy changes you have already made. A little here, a little there -- small improvements are still positive developments.

As for nicotine, I think there might be a genetic component re: how addictive it is and how hard it is to quit. That one never took with me or my Dad or my Mom.

As for me, not doing as well as I could be. The things I planned to do four years ago when I retired I still haven't been doing: physical exercise, meditation, reading books instead of internet collage.

You are a good player I don't know why you stretch your games out like you do.

Laziness mostly. Rating is always higher when I move quicker so the slow moving doesn't help.

June will be our 5th year anniversary, how are we going to celebrate? πŸ₯³

I was a smoker for many years, started in my teens. I was never a heavy drinker and I still have wine.

At least you have a place to meet now and then, like Piccadilly Circus or Times Square. πŸ™‚

Pick a spot and if we’re able to travel, I may be available...as long as it’s in walking distance.πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸ₯ƒ
