Don't drink alcoholic beverages
Don't smokethe
Don't have promiscous sexual encounters
Don't do anything risky
Eat only healthy foods, well balanced
You may not actually live to 100, but it will certainly feel like it
Chess and smoking in 90 year olds may actually be benefical in prologing life.
I, a qualified doctor, made a conscious decision, at the age of 35 to start smoking in order to stave off alzheimers which I regard the worst way to die.
I am guided by the Salmon Principle, which says that

If the medical profession says that something is bad for you
it is almost highly probable that it is in reality good for you

Smokers are thinkers - having a cigarette forces you to stop and think. Einstein had his best ideas watching the smoke-shapes from his cigars
When he asked himself what he would see if he sat on the front of a beam of light, he would undoubtedly have had a cigar in is mouth

Originally posted by SquelchbelchWhether you get lung cancer, in my view, depends highly on your chromosomes. My grandfather remarried at the age of 93 and only died as a result of slipping of the edge of the bed as his new TL was lighting his post-coital cigarette for him. There are mixed versions of this including the bed collapsing... but he sadly died of complications of a broken hip.
Lung cancer is a charming way to go I should imagine.
If your brother died at the age of 50 from a heart attack or you have lung disease, obviously dont smoke
But some people have the right chromosomes.
Another thing the 100 years old chap on tv said that reducing stress is also important, and I find that smoking reduces this for me;

But I can asure you, you will not be spared a fate as horrible as lung cancer even though you think you have the right material. Cancer is caused by a faulty replication of cells, unable to stop replicating. It really makes no difference what your biological background or even species is.
