* puts down glass *

No I've not noticed but I sometimes suffer from a slight soapy tasting mouth (a consequence of using too much toothpaste, apparently) so possibly wouldn't anyway.

Odd. I've noticed the same thing this week but I don't live in London.
Leave the tap running for a few seconds and there is a distinct Chlorine smell. I wonder what's up?

I had something like this happen with my old kettle. Limescale had biuld up and then brocken away, leaving a consealed hole. When i went to empty it, some would remain trapped in this hole and would only drain out if i held it upside down for a minute or two. Over time, the water in this hole got, errr, nastier, causing tea and coffee to taste rather disgusting. I only mentio n this cos you said you're on you're second cuppa. πŸ™‚

EDIT: Yes, you're right! My tea tastes like piss too. πŸ˜›"

All the water in the South East is crap.

When I moved to Berkshire, I changed the water in my fish tank and they all died within days and my washing machine and kettle both went tits-up due to limescale problems 😠

EDIT: Tea always tastes like piss, I can never understand why people drink the stuff πŸ˜•

Maybe it's because the French are bathing in it.

No idea, but can somebody answer me this:

Why does tea (and coffee but mostly tea) taste horrible when you are camping?
I take tea-bags from home, have used tap water, bottled water and water carried in a bottle from my home tap, the milk is the same, etc.
But when prepared whilst camping the tea has scum and bubbles on, and tastes watery and weak.
Why?!

I don't drink tap water, never have. If I have to drink water then I buy sparkling water from the shops, not that I even drink that on it's own though πŸ˜•

Do you heat the water in a mess tin?
