New research shows that loneliness can spread among groups of people like a bad cold can.

Instead of spreading through coughs or physical contact, the “loneliness bug” is caught by negative interactions.

A lonely person becomes less trusting of others, and basically "makes a mountain out of a molehill," misinterpreting odd looks or phrasings by a f ...[text shortened]... s become lonelier.

So be nice and loving to others and go out and make friends like crazy.
Homedepotov, there's only one ongoing solution to the universal problem of loneliness and boredom...

sustained growth toward human maturity and spiritual self esteem. All other alternatives are external

by definition (pleasant circumstances, other people, chemicals) and therefore transient and ineffectual.

Addictive counterfeit activities, cross dependencies and deceptive sublimations been around since Eden.

This sounds very objective and useful.

Actually you have self esteem in all ares of your life, not just spiritual. We all have to build up our intellectual self esteem and mental self esteem and physical self esteem as well.

I have to disagree with your statement that other people are transient and ineffectual. We humans are intensely social beings and need others to survive physically and psychologically from birth. Other people give us critical feedback on our behavior by the way they behave towards us without which we would could not gauge our growth and development or lack of it.
