Lonely (Frente, 1992)
am i real and what do i feel
hate is half a heart
only i am in my arms
you were sold as something to hold
nothing's as rude as the cold
stupidly beautifoolish true you
maybe madness is a heart
maybe heaven is a habit
if i could fly i'd live in the sky
i'd come from why and obviously you do too
the very start of everything hard could be the slip of a fingertip
One of my favourite poems:
Im Nebel
Seltsam, im Nebel zu wandern!
Einsam ist jeder Busch und Stein.
Kein Baum sieht den andern,
Jeder ist allein.
Voll von Freunden war mir die Welt,
Als noch mein Leben licht war,
Nun, da der Nebel fällt,
Ist keiner mehr sichtbar.
Wahrlich, keiner ist weise,
Der nicht das Dunkel kennt,
Das unentrinnbar und leise
Von allen ihn trennt.
Seltsam, im Nebel zu wandern!
Leben ist Einsamsein.
Kein Mensch kennt den anderen,
Jeder ist allein.
(Hermann Hesse)
I found this translation on the net:
In the fog
It's strange to wallow in hazy fog
A lonely bush, a lonely stone
No tree can see another one
And one is all alone
The world was full of friends back then
As life was light to me
But now the fog has veiled the pole
And no one can I see
I'm sure that nobody is wise
Who doesn't know the dark
That inevitably and silently
Does him from others part
It's strange to wallow in hazy fog
Life is a lonely shore
No man can see another one
And one is all alone
(Hermann Hesse; translation by Elena Virnik)
Originally posted by NordlysI can't speak for the original because I don't understand all the words (scans nice tho ...) but the translation is lovely.

A Walk in the Garden
The heartless dark of night appears,
spreading death and reaping fears,
upon the tainted blood of men,
to only rest then feast again.
Mangled bones of lover lay
on bloodstained sheets as angels pray.
From heaven down to hell below
single heartbeat; even flow.
The joy of pain becomes as one
A sweet caress the deed is done.
Evil wrought with stagnent pride.
The Devil eats his way inside.
Once within the gardens gate
one must succumb to ones own fate
Lady passion, her whispers still
the beating heart, the strongest will
and when the the mornings light appears
so are gone the deadend fears
of mortal men who carry on
forgotten lust lift with the dawn.
Till all comes crashing to an end.
No more lover; no more friend.
Only coldness all around,
as you weep upon the ground,
and watch another day near done
with the fainting of the sun.
As for the angels, still they pray
over beds where lovers lay.
For in the night there will appear
a woman full of death and fear.
who'll feast upon the blood of men;
rest, then feast once again.

Nice 🙂
Nothing Brings Me Down (Emiliana Torrini, 2005)
Home alone and happy
Nothing brings me down
Full of wine, unsteady
Nothing brings me down
What's left of the rain runs down my roof
Nothing brings me down
The night is lush the air is still
Nothing brings me down
Dum dum dum dum dum dum
The windows are open, the flies are in
Nothing brings me down
The phones are off the music's on
Nothing brings me down
Dum dum dum dum dum dum
Home alone and happy
Nothing brings me down
My love for you is ready
Nothing brings me down
My love for you is ready

Who else out there is sitting alone at their computer looking at the forums of an internet chess site on a Friday night while all their friends are out having fun with girlfriends/boyfriends?
For how many is this how you usually spend friday nights?
I'm so lonely.
Okay, so if you can't get into that... the rent a couple of dramatic movies where people are being tortured or something goes wrong in their lives and they get paralyzed for life... or lose their loved one... or get 90 yrs in jail for a crime they didn't commit!!! 😕
Yeah, all these things REALLY HAPPEN in life! So feel LUCKY!

Sweetie, there aren't very many women who can hold a candle to your lovliness... You should be able to get any man you want. 😵
Perhaps the problem is you don't know what you want...
Thanks for the kind words.
Just not interested at the moment. Too disheartened.
Being lonely doesn't have to be a bad thing. It can be quite cleansing for the soul.
