one i found wants techincal skills in Rf for data analysis, what does that mean?
Also, does anyone know anywhere good to search for finance jobs, im 18 and just left sixth form, and want somewhere i can find jobs such as admin work to build up from ground to somewhere good.
Also, is starting in admin work the best way to get into corporate banking/finance-ish things and build up, or are there equally good/better places to start?

Originally posted by mazziewagYou will probably be able to get yourself an entry level placement within one of the big banks call-centres, most of them prefer to recruit from within so you could advance your training and job within the organisation, I would still advise against it, unless of course if you want to end up a drone.
yeah spose. but any other advice?
Originally posted by mazziewagIt's nearly impossible to get anything entry-level (outside of sales or customer service) without some sort of advanced degree or accreditation. In the US, the most common route would probably be to get an MBA or work toward a CFA designation (Certified Financial Analyst). You may be able to get some kind of job as an assistant with a company that would sponsor you for your CFA (or equivalent).

An alternative would be to become a stock broker (or financial advisor, as they like to call themselves), which is essentially a sales position. Get licensed, make crap money for a while, then start opening your own accounts.
Another alternative would be to look at positions in service or inside sales at a mutual fund company. Once you're on that sales track though, it'll be hard to break into any kind of financial analysis position without some kind of advanced degree.
Hope this helps. Personally, I'd follow Cadwah's advice. Go have a little fun.
Note: This is speaking as an American. I have no idea how it works in other countries.
the most stable industries to look for work ( they all have some finance related work ) is the industries that deal with death, birth and crime...all places have these events and someone collects data or processes money
around them..they will never go off-shore to another country..there will be
regular work...there are both private and government jobs in these industries..
Agreed, get a degree otherwise resign yourself to crappy low level jobs. Soon people younger than you with degrees will be passing you by and earning lots more than you.
Plus a degree is fun (I mean the time at Uni)
Another poster mentioned that your CV should read better than your posts. He is totally right, but I am sure you have got that down.

Check all spelling and grammar on applications, it's always noticed if there is a mistake (just like here!) 🙂
