Take me off the list. RHP games anymore seem to turn into Bosse, nook and 50 noobs picking on the three other players (including me, as I won't hand the game to someone else) and then handing victory to Bosse and starr. That's no fun.

Has the game started and did I miss it or anything? 😕

Or do you have valuable inside information for us to share honourable ATY-san?

When the forces of "evil" are already powering up, then isn't it up to us to do the same?

Different games. Bosse and nook have this magical power to charm half the players of any particular game to sacrifice themselves for Bosse's and nook's benefit. I'm tired of it and don't really want to play with them any more. If you were playing Risk, and one player was able to convince all the other players to sacrifice themselves to make you lose, telling them they did a good job because they weren't the first to die - and they did this twice in a row - would you keep playing with them?

I don't like getting ganged up on, and Bosse and nook are diplomatic masterminds who can get people to gang up on their enemies. I bow down and accept that they outclass me. However, it's not being outclassed in a way I enjoy being a part of - it's in a way that makes me decide I want to play with people who want to win the game instead of "roleplay" and verbally masturbate one another.

I wonder if any of their chess opponents resigned because Bosse/nook were able to "roleplay" in the chess game really well and flattered their enemy?

Hmm ..., taking notes.

* diplomatic masterminds: "Watch out with diplomatic contact with The Boss, The noob and The Stars."

OK noted, thanks for the warning(s).

And now I want to play this game to find out if I might like it. 🙂

btw honarable ATY-san, I agree with you that there is no honour in dying for someone elses cause(s).

But then again if you can pull that off ... hmmm ... headache ... need more info ... sending out spies ... hmm ... how to interpertate this info ... hmm ... need more info on enemies and allies.

It's the Royal/Non-royal thing that annoys me.

You HAVE to pay to have a chance at winning. If you don't you just get elimated or bullyed into becoming some Royal's whipping boy. In the end it's just a competition to see who can dominate the most non-royals.

That's not true. I won my first DragonLords game as a commoner, and the legendary Claes never plays Royal.

By the way, nook was in that case sacrificing himself to help me win. He's not a bad guy; he just has this knack for getting others to back him up.

Swearing fealty to a Royal is not becoming his whipping boy!

Oh yeah. Give massive respect to Bosse and nook and try to get in with them - but only as one of the final victors. Get them to promise this; they'll keep their word. Even so, I'd be very wary about any of their worshippers who gets too strong.

I'll take it you can swear to a Royal and break this alliance later on in the game?

Yes, but you suffer penalties. The Royal does not.

Star is a good guy and a solid player, but he doesn't have that knack nook and Bosse have.

And Starrman isn't playing in this game.

This game should be very different to the last one. There are a lot more veterans this time, including Gottschalk aka Guy Wilson, who was ranked third in Mediaeval Diplomacy last time I checked.

You can also ask your lord to release you from service, for no penalty.

The four-way winning coalition in the last MD game I played included two commoners.

My first (out of 5 to date) was a win - the big difference is that some lieges will actively help their henchmen.

Which sux - I've seen evidence of great tactical skill and giggleable blunders from both parties - relying on the support of ignorant players to further their win reeks of cowardice.

I'm glad I'll never be used like that.
