This game should be very different to the last one. There are a lot more veterans this time, including Gottschalk aka Guy Wilson, who was ranked third in Mediaeval Diplomacy last time I checked.
I think this game will be completely different to the last one. far too many strong players to allow such alliances to form so easily.

I can't bloody wait for my first turn, is it coming this week or next.

Did anyone effectivly use spies last game, I can't remember any getting found... or any taking provinces for that matter.

I had eyes in Kyushu the whole game. It pays to cultivate the little people. Thank you, tengu...

I understand you need ten spies to nab a province. Much effort required.

Yes but 10 spies will not hold a province against 1 heavy cavalry so you wouldn't keep it long...

Yes but the spies will cost more than what you get from pillaging and they will die quickly as they are pretty pish at fighting.

Some of it's because I am in a bad mood due to real life issues. Sorry about that. Starting with a bad mood and then finding that EVERYONE wants Rome to win sent me over the edge.
