As for me, holding steady at about 190 lbs at age 62, and having seen how skinny my parents became by their early 80s, I don't mind having some extra pounds in reserve.

I gained about 20lbs when I quit smoking, going from 165 to, well you do the math. Eventually I lost 10 lbs, without really trying and there I’ve stayed, for the most part, with some occasional/holiday deviation 2-3lbs either way. I am in my mid 70s and 5’8-9” tall.
