2 average meals a day - 6AM and 6PM. Only 1 treat a week, a can of wine (12 oz) + small bag of chips on Saturday night. Exercise 6 days a week. It's working, down 8 pounds now, but it sucks! Almost midnight, and hunger is growing. Sources say one's body will get used to this in time. I hope so! 😕
I have two meals between 11-7, gym three days a week, and i get a little bit loosey goosey at the weekends. I've lost like 30lbs, but there is a plateau you reach that is very infuriating. This hasn't been one of those advert stories either. Nearly 3 years to get to where I am now. I find lifestyle changes beat diet, because diets suggest a return to the old ways at some point.
Good luck mate, it's a long road.
@huckleberryhound saidGimme some of that loosey goosey.

@mchill saidHow does it taste? I've always found with beer that canned tastes better that bottled but never seen a can of wine before. Used to think a bag or carton of wine was a silly idea and wasn't as nice but tbh there's little difference.
Yes - a 12 oz. can. Sounds odd, but they're in the wine section of the supermarket (Safeway)
In regards to your weight issue, I don't know how old you are or how much you weigh but the idea is not to be hungry, if you're starting regular exercise your body needs fuel, depriving yourself will only only cause fatigue and other issues. Plus like The Berryhound already mentioned, it's not about a diet, it's about changing your usual eating habits more or less permanently. If you're miserable because you're hungry it's not going to last, just eat heathier.
Everyone is different though and it's about figuring out what works for you, about 20 months ago I weighed 85kg, the heaviest I'd ever been so decided something had to be done. I used drink, eat too much chocolate and rarely do any exercise, I still drink, still eat chocolate, still do little exercise but I now weigh 75kg and had actually gone as low as 70kg about 9 months ago just by eating less and, especially at night. Also did the 12 hour fasting and still generally do between the last meal of the night and breakfast but instead of having a dinner it was mostly something light, like a fruit salad at night with the biggest meal at lunch.
@mchill saidHere's a tip.

Buy one of those half-bottles of wine with a screwtop. They're about 12oz, too.
Or, if you can find one of those corks with wooden tops you get on port or spirits, keep that cork, and buy a half-bottle with cork. You can throw its cork away, it isn't easily reusable, but the port kind is.
Drink that bottle. Keep and rinse both bottle and top.
Next time, buy a full bottle of decent wine, instead. Fill the half-bottle, close it properly, and store it in a cool place. Since it is now closed with very little air inside, it will go bad only slowly, almost as slowly as a normal bottle. It will certainly last until next weekend.
Drink the rest of the full bottle. Next week, drink your saved-up half bottle.

@trev33 saidIt's impressive weight loss Trev, but you do realise your right leg won't just simply grow back again.

@trev33 saidOk…now there’s moderation and there’s moderation. Your understanding of the term, when it comes to chess moves is…well to put it politely…bizarre.😲😉👍

@mchill saidEat a boatload of veggies, including stir fried (not drenched in oil, obviously) like zuchini, tomatoes, pumpkin, peppers, etc. Also eat a lot of the types of fruit that are a pain in the neck to eat, like apples and oranges.

They really take the edge off the hunger and too much zuchini is never going to ruin your diet.
Also, don't reduce protein consumption. Non-fried chicken, salmon, beans, tofu. Your body needs protein. Don't reduce these. It's not worth it.
Don't be afraid of fats but choose healthy fats like olive oil and avocadoes.
Cut down on carbs, but choose filling high fiber carbs like whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta.
Don't try to starve yourself. You'll never be able to sustain it. And if you do, you'll put the weigh back on when you go off the diet.
Trust me. I've been there. I took off 25 pounds in 2015 and I've basically kept it off. Starving doesn't work and is bad for your body anyway.
Also, walk. Podcasts. Audio books. Music. Whatever you like. Invest in a good pair of headphones and curate things you like to listen to and you'll look forward to walking. I walk 60-90 minutes a day, depending on the weather and do another 40 on the stationary bike. If you have good content to watch or listen to, you'll enjoy every minute of it.
Good luck!
