hey thanks for picking up on my thoughts. i say that our "reality" is very precarious and quite artificial. it is contrived by the chemical engineering within out brain. what is a "drug"? in this context, it is anything that affects our perception. someone said love is a drug, i would add music, food, religion, exercise, etc etc. in other words anything that affects the chemical balance in our brain is a drug.
so if someone takes lsd or another drug they are basically just tweaking the system on a temporary basis. the body normally cleans out and restores the "normal" or default chemical mix pretty effectively.
our default chemical mix is simply the one that evolution found to be the most successful one for survival in our environment. it is not the one and only state that we have to stick with 100% of the time.
people go out and drink, smoke, have coffee, go to church all the time, right?

I've enjoyed it every time. I just can't find 8 hours to sit down with it anymore 🙁

I think it's helped me as a thinker, especially in the realms of pattern matching and of tying together two disparate concepts or ideas.

The doors it opens are only frightening if you want them to be.
