I know that my dad has been asking for Random Pairing for at least a half year, but he has always been ignored. Neither Chris nor Russ has never bothered to reply!
Of course, this is their site, so they can do what ever they want!

I asked about this over 6 months ago. I was going to leave in the beginning of the year because I was completly ignored. It is much better to recieve a NO as an answer than no answer at all.
There are a lot of players left on this site so few lost ones will not matter.

I'm sorry you feel like you need to leave, but I did search the Forums and found some input from Russ regarding this. It is below. I think Russ and Chris are doing the best they can and have other priorities they are focusing on. It may seem like a simple matter to some, but they are not doing this full time. Please just give them some time.
The tounaments are nice, but I didn't join the site for that. I know I didn't copy everything about this and know there is more info out there, but this is some of what I found.

Sorry for all the disappointment. Nothing has changed as far as the groups are concerned.
But I must say, to my recollection, I have never posted through feedback or the forums saying that they would be random at any point. I may have said that I would look at it - but never that they actually *are* random. (I will get to it, but there are other priorities at the moment.)
Please search for any post where I said the contrary, and I will humbly eat my words....

As a non-participator to this tournament, I think I can be rather objective. Here is what the tournament itself says, pretty clear I'd think:

Description Head to head, winner goes through, random pairings...

Ah! That is pretty clear! I was curious where all this expectation of random pairings had come from.
Ok, explanation time. Chris has been creating the recent tournaments - and they should never have been listed as random (I coded the tournaments, and they are not random in the way everyone appears to want them to be).
Double apologies to all and eating words humbly right this second....(for breakfast)

The ‘banded’ tournaments are not far off now.
Random distribution of players also could be implemented, if that was
preferred over the method I currently use. (By rating) If people feel
strongly about this, I will change it for all future tournaments. (This
would also impact latter rounds of current tournaments too)
